Somebody is 3!

Myles turned 3 on November 19th.  I still can't believe how big he is getting.  And independent.  Man is  this little guy independent.  I know that it will be a good thing for him, but some days in makes me want to pull my hair out.  Still he is one of the sweetest little guys ever.  And super funny!   Here's a few pictures from his special day!

opening presents

He loves all things Paw Patrol right now!

Isn't his cake adorable

June and Larry sent him a gift card and this is what he picked out with the money.  Play Dough is also a favorite thing right now.

Cute sweet boy!

Here he is trying to blow out the candles on his cake.....

He may or may not have needed a little sneaky help from Lexie to get them out!

Driver In Training

Lexie passed her written driving test and I took her to get her learners permit on November 18.  I'm still not sure how I feel about her driving.  It makes me nervous and excited all at the same time.

Sad day

We have had unseasonably warm weather this fall and winter.  Thus the kids were outside playing in only jackets the first week of November.  (What?  Yes you read that right, jackets only in November!)   Well one day Myles was tagging along with Abbie and her friends in the backyard.  Then they decided to climb the fence.  Myles insisted that he follow them.  Gratefully they helped him so he didn't get hurt.  But there was a casualty of the climb over the fence.  Myles favorite shirt got ripped.   When I first realized that something was wrong I thought he was hurt he was crying so hard.  He was inconsolable at first.

He was so very, very sad.

And this is what he looked like when I suggested that we get rid of said shirt.

See it ripped right through Marshall's mouth.

After some loves and reassuring that we could see about getting a new shirt the tears stopped.  Later that night after he finally fell asleep I threw the shirt away so that he didn't see again and have another melt down.  And yes we were able to get a new shirt the next day.  All in the world of this two year old is good again.

UPDATE:  Myles just saw these pictures again and I could tell that it still upset him a little bit to see them.  Then he said the cutest thing.  "I got a new one, it's good again!"

Halloween

Halloween kinda snuck up on us this year.  It shouldn't have because it's not like you can forget that it is coming, and we like Halloween around here, a lot.  But we had been super busy and Jake was working the outage so the week before I realized that there was a lot that we needed to do before the tricks and treats.  We finally got our pumpkins carved.  It was fun, it always is.  Even if it is messy.

This boy.... He was all over this messy big boy activity.

Myles wanted an owl

Lexie's creation!

She was super proud of her pumpkin, and she should have been! She did most of the work for it this year!

Ashton and I worked hard on his pumpkin.  He was super motivated to create something hard but cool.

It was the Denver Broncos logo!  Man that was one complicated carving job!

The finished pumpkins!

The next day was Halloween.  Sadly, Jake had to work so it was just me and the kiddos.  Thankfully it wasn't too cold and we had a fun time trick or treating.

Abbie was Elsa.  Myles was Jake the Neverland Pirate. And Lexie was Helen of Troy... (sound familiar)  Hey I was just glad she got some more use out of the costume since she worked so hard on it!  Lexie stayed home and passed out the candy while I took the two littles around the neighborhood.

Myles was super cute.  He really got it this year and had a ball getting candy from all of our neighbors.

My sweet princess.

This is the only picture I got of Ashton.  He went with his friend from the neighborhood and had a great time.  And he used his baseball uniform which was awesome for me.  All the boys dressed up as some sort of sports guys using past uniforms.  They thought it up all by themselves but I couldn't have come up with a better plan myself.  He used his bat bag as his candy bag and got lots of compliments on his creativity!
