Moving

I was so excited the day that I drove past our new house and saw the "SOLD" sign up!  It made everything seem so real.

Our awesome relator lent us an enclosed trailer to pack some stuff in to get ready for our move.
Myles had a lot of fun "helping" me  load boxes in one day.

And he played in the stack in the house before it got to the trailer.

The kids were a great help that day.  We loaded the whole trailer full of boxes all by ourselves.

On our actual moving day, a bunch of people from the ward came and helped us move the big stuff.  I don't know what we would have done without them.  Sadly I was too busy to get any pictures of that. But we really appreciated all the help.

What We Did.... May addition

May always starts off with this sweet, sassy girl getting a little older.  Abbie turned 7 on the 1st.  We had originally planned to take the family out for a birthday dinner, but with Lexie's accident that had to be postponed a little.

She picked out a pink ice cream cake.

Myles had a hard time because he wanted to help open the presents, he didn't understand that it was Abbie's special day.  Although sad, I thought it was kinda cute.

Lexie tried to be present and happy for her sister and I think she did a great job all things considered. She was back in bed soon after this picture.  Fortunately she recovered pretty quickly from her concussion but those first few days were pretty rough.

The end of May brings the last days of school and all the fun activities associated with that.  I was only able to make to Ashton's rocket launch day, but it was pretty fun.

The kids made rockets in class and then they got to launch them into the big field at school. Here is Ashton getting his ready to take off.  And after a misfire, or two, Ashton's finally took off.

Blast off!!

The end of May also brings baseball season!  My favorite.  Ashton loves it too.  I love watching baseball and I especially love watching him play baseball.

Practice.

Practice.

Practice.

Warming up before the game.

One more thing from April

On conference weekend we made some cinnamon rolls.  It was really fun having all the kids help me make them.

 And they were delicious!

Lexie's Birthday

The other big thing that happened in April was that Lexie turned 15.  She is such a great daughter.  She is my right hand a lot and I love her to pieces.  She has such a strong testimony and genuinely always tries to do the right thing.  She is a great student and super smart.  I love her so much.

April Happenings

This happened in April.
On April 30th, Lexie tripped over a hurdle in a track meet and suffered a concussion.  Our high school was supposed to get a new surface over the previous summer, but it didn't happen so we had no home track meets.  I was only able to go to one meet, in Hastings (30 minutes from us) and Jake was only able to go to one track meet (also in Hastings).  This happened at the meet that Jake was at.  She doesn't really remember what happened.  I still remember the dread I felt when Jake called me as I was taking Ashton to baseball and said I needed to meet him at the hospital, he had Lexie and she had a concussion.  They did a bunch of tests at the hospital to rule out other injuries and had us stay for a while for observation.  Light gave her a headache, so did sound.  She was super dizzy and had a hard time thinking.  She could barely remember when her birthday was.  She still doesn't remember much of that night.  It was so hard and so scary to watch her like that.  It broke this mommy's heart.

On a happier note, we did do some fun stuff too.  We celebrated Trisha's birthday with our traditional balloon release.

We celebrated Easter.  We dyed easter eggs and had an easter egg hunt, both inside and out.

Abbie had so much fun
