My Experiment

I can't believe that Abbie's hair is getting so long.  Every day when I am doing her hair I am amazed at how long it seems, and then the curliness take over and it doesn't seem as long anymore.  Well tonight I talked her into letting me use my flat iron on her hair to see what it would look like straight.  Here it is before

Her hair is pretty long.  It made her look totally different.  I don't think I will be doing it again, it just wasn't her.  But it was kinda fun to see. 

Happy Birthday Lexie

Good thing blogger is so forgiving... Even though this post says that I did it on Lexie's birthday I didn't.  She had a great birthday day though.  It started out with a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's because I had to work on the 21st.  When I got there it was almost time to go to the movies.  We went to see African Cats it was a new show that Disney put out on the 22nd because that is also Earth Day.  It was a fun time, then after the movie we went shopping for Lexie's birthday present, at Barnes and Noble.  She is now the owner of a nook color.  

After that we went back to Grandma's and figured out her new toy for a while.  We went to dinner at the Myan (it was Lexie's choice of course)  The food was so-so but the entertainment was good.  All three of them really enjoyed themselves.

After dinner we came home for ice cream cake.  It was turtle cake from Marble Slab and it was delicious.  We invited our friends, Tash and RJ, from up the street to join us and it was really fun, I just wish we would have gotten a picture of everyone.  

Happy Birthday Lexie!  You are so sweet and so good.  Thank you for always being my helper and for always trying to do the right thing.  I love you.

 We keep getting a glimpse of warmer weather and then it's gone again.  Since it has been rainy and pretty much disagreeable lately (kinda like me) I decided to try and bring a little sunshine and spring into the house since we can't go outside and get any.  I love my daffodils because they come up every year and remind me that spring is indeed on it's way.  And the come with an added bonus, the deer won't eat them like they will tulips and other spring flowers.

I bought a cute little kit at Walmart today full of pipe cleaners, googly and puff balls. My kids had a blast making all sorts of creations with it. I love their final creations.... don't you?

What a fun way to spend the afternoon.  I found a couple other craft kits that I snuck into the cart also, so we will be having (hopefully) more days like this soon.

Starfruit

 How can you not smile when your food is that cute!

Today I was able to get a bountiful basket again after not being able to for the last 3 weeks because of how fast the sale out.  I was really excited too because I also got a tropical pack that had pineapple, mangos, a starfruit and lots more in it.  We have never tried a starfruit and the kids were super excited to give it a try, they wanted me to cut it up as soon as we got home.  They eagerly waited for me to say they could give it a try, nearly getting their fingers in the way of the knife as I cut it up.  Finally they were able to give it a taste....

I think it was still a little on the green side, but it was very tasty I am sure we will be buying more of them at the store soon.  

Trisha's Birthday

Today would have been Trisha's 33 birthday, we celebrated by going to dinner at her favorite place to go do dinner, Sizzler.  We had lots of good food and Ashton got his favorite-shrimp!!  He ate at least as many as I did.

Then we went back to my mom's for cake. 

 Then we sent balloons to Trisha, we have done this every year and my kids really love letting balloons go "up to heaven".  

Sorry these are kinda bad pictures, I forgot to take my camera with us (after I made sure that I had it all charged and ready to go) :( so I had to use my phone and it doesn't take the best pictures but at least I have some.

On Sunday while we were watching conference Ashton decided to have his own mini photo shoot.  Here are some of the results.

He is such a cute kids.  When he brought me my camera and had me look at all the pictures that he had taken we laughed and laughed, I love this kid!
