I'll do it myself...

The other night I was taking some of Lexie's friends home after her party, and Abbie thought she needed to go too, but it was bedtime and I didn't want her to fall asleep in the car.  So we left without her and when we got back she had put on her own shoes in an attempt to come with us.  So cute....

Dumb Deer

I hate deer, I really do.  Can't they leave my flowers alone???  (Look past all the weeds, :) this is the only flower bed I haven't gotten to this spring.)  There is only one flower on my tulips the rest have been mercilessly eaten.  One stinkin flower!!!  My solution...

Just kidding, really dial soap in nylons.  I have been told deer hate the smell so we are going to give it a try.

Happy Birthday Lexie!!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Lexie, happy birthday to you!!!  My sweetheart turns 10 today.  I can't believe that you are growing up so fast, it seems like only yesterday that you were my tiny baby that I first brought home from the hospital without a clue how to take care of you.  I love you so much.   Thank you for being you: sweet, caring, fun, friendly,  honest, dependable, funny, and my best helper.  I hope that you have many more days filled with love and laughter.  I love you, Mom.

Backyard Baseball

On Saturday, (I know I'm a little late) we had a great game of backyard baseball.  Just our little family.  It started as Ashton showing Jake how good he is getting at hitting, fielding, throwing and catching.  Then it turned into a makeshift game.  We had a great time and will hopefully get to do it a lot more this summer.  I had such a good time playing that I didn't stop to think about taking pictures.

Spring.....finally

Today was a beautiful spring day and we HAD to go outside and enjoy it.  First we (Ashton, Abbie and I) went to the park.

it was really fun but we didn't get to stay very long because soon it was time for Lexie to be home from school.

This picture completely shows Abbie's personality.  She loves to explore and climb things, with little fear.   She rarely looks back once she has started out on an adventure. This was the first time that we had been to the park in a while, but she wasn't hesitant at all.  "I climb, mom" was one of the first things she said to me.  She was quickly at the top.  I love her belief that she can do anything. I have a lot to learn from her attitude.

We had to get out

This was a week ago or so, on a day when I had my nephews and it looked like spring outside, but really didn't FEEL like it.  We tried the front yard so that we were at least in the sun.  The kids had a great time even though it was pretty cool and we didn't stay our long.   Bubbles and chalk are great outside toys!!!!!

Easter Stuff

We had lots of fun dyeing our easter eggs this year.  We found a cool kit that had the regular die and some gel dye that you sponged on either by its self or before or after the regular dye.  It was a little messy but WAY worth it.  The kids were visited by the easter bunny, had an egg hunt and down lots of candy.  But the only time I had the camera handy was during the easter egg dyeing so that is the only pictures we have. My mom has some from the easter egg hunt at her house, I'll have to get them.  We had a great weekend celebrating easter and listening to conference.

This is awesome...
