Somebody is 2!

Happy, happy birthday Myles!  I can't believe that my baby is two!  Where has time gone?  Seriously I love this little guy so much.  He is sweet and funny and full of mischief.  He is inquisitive and smart.  He can make a whole room laugh with his antics.  He loves to take in everything he sees and you better believe that he is watching!  He loves to cuddle and snuggle with his mom.

This is little guy is so sweet!  Love him so much.  So grateful that he is a part of our family!

More from October

The kids had MEA, fall break, whatever you want to call it on the 16th and 17th.  I thought it might be a fun time to go to the zoo, even if it was busy so we went on that Thursday.  It was the most beautiful day and we had a great time even if the red panda and armadillo were sleeping.  Those are my kids two most favorite animals and it seems like they are always sleeping so we never get to see them in action.  Considering they are both nocturnal it only makes sense that they are asleep during the day when we are at the zoo.

Here they are at the tiger's lair.

This picture really doesn't do this tree justice, it really looked like it was on fire, so pretty.

Caribou

Moose statue...See how beautiful it was.  And it was 72 degrees, almost unheard of for Minnesota in October.  It was the perfect fall day.

The tiger

Myles loves this turtle statue, he plays with it every visit.

Riding baby rhinos is serious business!

I love, love love the Minnesota Zoo.  They have an outdoor part, a half indoor-half outdoor part, and all indoor rainforest part and an aquarium all at the same place.  They also have an IMAX theatre It is a long day to see it all, but perfect to hit some in a few hours.  And you can totally tailor your visit depending on the weather.  I love that we can go to the zoo any season and have a great day!

We also had out friends the Reid's over for part of conference.  That was super fun, we had treats to eat during the sessions.  We shared dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday.  We watched the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning session together.  Then Jake also took Jill's boys to the priesthood session too.  It was a super fun weekend.  I didn't get many pictures but here are a couple from that weekend.

Lexie has taken on a new project that is filling our house with music and I love it.  She really wants to learn how to play the song "All of Me" by John Legend.  It is one of our newest favorite songs.  But she couldn't find any good sheet music.  But she did find a good tutorial of how to play in on Youtube.  But she wanted to have the sheet music so she is transposing the tutorial into sheet music.  She is amazing!

Here she is working on it.

Chef in training--make that TWO chefs in training!

One of Abbie's favorite things to do is help me cook.  Always has been.  Since she was little she has loved to sit on the counter and help me cook dinner, make cookies, whatever she just wants to help.  I bought us matching aprons a while ago and she loves to be able to wear them when we cook.  Here we are making dinner one night a while ago.

She is getting to be a really good helper too.  She can cut up veggies and measure out ingredients like a pro!  I love having a little helper.

Myles is quiet into cooking too!  Me says "mix, mix mix" and always wants to stir if he gets to sit on the counter and help.   The other morning I was busy mopping the kitchen floor and probably not paying enough attention to what he was doing and when I peaked around the corner this is what I found.  He said "mix noonuls"  (mix noodles).  He was so proud of himself!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween.  Jake had to work, so I took the little kids trick or treating and Lexie stayed home to had out candy.  She said she wanted to, that she didn't want to go trick or treating so that worked out well.
Myles was a tiger, Daniel Tiger to be exact.

Ashton was a mummy.  That was one time consuming costume to make.
Abbie was a witch.

All ready to go get some candy!

Myles didn't understand what we were doing at first, but it didn't take him long to figure out what we were doing and he LOVED running up to the doorsteps and ringing the doorbells.  About halfway through he started saying trick or treat and thank you.  He was really cute.  My kids are so good.  They had the best manners while we were trick or treating.  Ashton was especially thoughtful the whole time, saying thank you and asking how people were doing.  He amazing me sometimes.  Lots of our neighbors commented on how good our kids are.  Good job kids.  We got lots of candy!  And it didn't take long to all of them to dig in once we got home!

Earlier in the day Myles and I went to Sunnyside to watch the costume parade.  It was fun to see all of the kids in their costumes.  Myles really liked it.  They go past so fast I didn't even get a picture of Abbie so I borrowed my friends, in which Abbie's eyes are closed.  Oh well, you get the idea.

Here we are waiting for the parade to start.

Myles was giving me his best tiger face!

He is so stinkin cute!
